Applicants who have attended any institution(s) of higher education in other countries must submit an official English translated copy of their transcript(s), along with a copy of their original transcript in their country of origin’s language. If a degree was awarded, the official transcript must state that the degree was conferred.

Official credentials/academic records can be sent to our office electronically (directly from the institution) to applyonline@gwu.edu, or via the United States Postal Service (in sealed envelopes) to:

Applicants from institutions in other countries:

  • Applicants who attended and/or received a degree from a foreign institution must submit transcripts in English as well as the original language.
  • Applicants who attended an institution in which English was the primary language of instruction, but not situated in an English-speaking country, must also submit transcripts in both English and the original language.
  • For transcripts from institutions in India: please scan individual marksheets demonstrating the grade received in each course for each semester.
  • We do not accept transcript evaluations by third-party organizations (ex. WES) in place of the original transcripts from the institution.

Please note that all official credentials, such as transcripts, marks statements, or degree certificates become the property of the George Washington University once they have been submitted and will not be returned to the student or the issuing institution.

Transfer of Credit Policy
Academic credit earned at another institution will not be transferred into any online graduate program offered through the Online Engineering Programs.
